A dirt road leads toward the snow-capped Henry Mountains near Hanksville, Utah. Sometimes the simplest compositions work best.

Sunrise breaks over Reflection Canyon near Escalante, Utah. An 8-mile hike through unmarked desert terrain leads to this overlook where Lake Powell winds through layered sandstone formations.
The Minarets have been on my shot list for years. Those jagged spires reaching over 12,000 feet, remnants of ancient volcanic activity carved by glaciers. I finally made the trip to Minaret Vista and the light cooperated.
The tree stopped growing years ago. The stars haven't.
